Blog 4 - Education

Hi everyone, today I will talk about vocational choice, my own experience and advice that I think might be helpful. Well, to be honest, I had a hard time choosing the career I wanted to study, especially because my option when I graduated was just studying at the university. I say this because I believe that there are more things that can be done in life besides studying and having a degree, but I will talk about this later. Since I was very little I have gone through many career and profession options, but the one that always was a possibility, was veterinarian, because I always loved animals and also I planned to have my own farm or animal hotel. Other professions, that were a possibility at one point, were being a visual artist and an actress. Then, when I grew up, my career options were three. Design, theater and architecture. The first that I discarded was theater, because I didn't feel very connected to the career and in a country like Chile, live from art, it's very dif...

Blog 3 - Religion

Hi guys, today I will talk about religion.  For me since I was little I have been close to religion, specifically the Catholic religion. Since all my maternal family is very believing and since I can remember we went to Masses on Sundays. Also, like all my cousins, I went to a Catholic school. So you can understand that I have been quite close to this religion. But since about 13-14 years I stopped believing in this religion and I moved away from all customs and beliefs. Personally, I don't believe in any god and I don't find much logic in this thought, but I think that people sometimes need to hold onto something in order to be motivated or to find meaning in their lives. And on that side I think that religion is something positive for the human being and the understanding of life. However, I think that like everything in life, religion ...

Blog 2- Healthcare System

Image
Hi guys, today I will talk about the Healthcare System and Mental Health in Chile. As a Chilean society we are used to paying for everything and above all having to pay for things that should be a minimum right of each individual, such as education and health, among others. In Chile there is a huge difference between the public and private health systems, and I think that this should not be the case, the government should guarantee a free quality health system that meets the minimum needs of the people. In addition to the lack of support from the state for covering a large part of physical illnesses, there is a lack of policies and programs corresponding to mental health. It is proven that in Chile a very low percentage of the health budget is allocated to mental health (about 5%) and this is something that is not consistent with the number of cases of people suffering from a mental illness. Therefore, it is very important that the Chilean government can take charge of the public ...
